Why we love our home:

  • The combination of carpeting, insulation, ceiling fans and vinyl windows plus a new furnace and A/C leads to LOW gas and energy bills. We keep our home really cool in the summer and really warm in the winter, and our bills are MUCH lower than what is normal for this area. We also have energy efficient CFL lightbulbs in almost every light, which also leads to lower energy bills.
  • LOTS of windows and the updated ceiling lights bring so much light into our home, which can help so much during the long Cleveland winters. I LOVE how well-lit our home is!
  • Our backyard area is large. The driveway is large enough for us to back our car out so we enter the street facing forward. It's a great space for riding bikes, entertaining (you can fit a lot of tables and chairs, a fire pit, etc!), or playing basketball! The backyard is fully fenced, including a chain link fence across the driveway. That is extremely helpful to keep kids and pets in! We've also built a small 3'x6' garden plot for vegetables (or flowers, if you prefer!).
  • We are SO CLOSE to everything! We are within walking distance to public transportation, food, convenience stores, movie rental, dry cleaning, salons, and the ever so popular and desireable CEDAR/LEE DISTRICT, and a short drive to COVENTRY VILLAGE and LEGACY VILLAGE! We are close to any type of shopping or service that you need (including an oil change!). The elementary school is Fairfax, junior high is Wiley, and the high school is Heights High. We are close to Cain Park, which has a nice playground and tennis courts plus so many awesome events and concerts during the summertime, and the best sledding hill around during the winter!
  • We have wonderful neighbors! The Heights Garden Center is to the east of us, and what a view we get out our kitchen window! During the spring and summer months we get to enjoy the beautiful plants and trees that are in bloom. They are extrememly quiet and courteous. We usually forget they are there because we can't hear anything. Everyone who works there is so helpful and generous and very involved with the community. And the neighbors to the west are WONDERFUL. They are so kind and friendly and quiet. And we have some neighbors across the street that have an eye for landscaping and are generous with their knowledge! Just you wait until spring and summer rolls around-their yards are gorgeous, and another neighbor is very generous with his plums!
  • There are some awesome perks to living on Cedar. Driving time to everything around you is so much shorter. Cedar is always one of the first roads to get plowed and iced during the winter! It's an extremely safe street to live on. Public transportation runs right along our street. It's not that busy on our section of Cedar and it's not very loud. Our house is so insulated that we don't hear much outside!
  • Our home is so great! The basement is fully usable-we have food storage, children's play area, laundry area, and craft area. The craft table (which can stay) has great storage and is wonderful to fold laundry on. There isn't a "dark and spooky" area in our basement. We have a 4th bedroom with a closet on the main floor. It's perfect for an office or guest room. Our family room has a small nook that can be used for a reading area or toy area-we use it for our piano, toys, and bookcase. The stairway has a wonderful window that lets in so much light. The full bathroom is large and can hold the whole family if needed! The new kitchen has so much cupboard space (which has been so great for me since I'm a cook and I love my gadgets!) and is so light and welcoming.

We love our home! It is so great to come home and just be in our home. It is cozy, "homey," comfortable, light, and happy. We don't feel crowded or closed in. It's not a chaotic place. It has been a great refuge and safe place for us. We love being in our home and having people come to our home. We hope you feel the warmth and comfort that we love so much!
